United Composites is established in 1998 with as goal, the development, the trade as well production of advanced light weight structures made of composites. The company targets mainly on the "Spin-off"  of  advanced composite technologies from the space and aerospace industry towards industrial applications.

The last few years, the company focuses more and more in applications were safety and  protection in combination with a light weight are needed and are of great issue. This applications are mainly were parts are exposed and have to operate in extreme conditions like, high temperatures, fires, high impact loads, chemicals and have to protect other equipment and people.  The type of industries we focus on are:

• transportation, automotive en train industry

• chemical industry

• space and aerospace

Examples of applications are:

• Interiors for shopping malls, train stations, underground stations, trains, luxury yachts and cruise ships for which the highest demands are made for fire retardancy (class 0/1),  flammability, fire propagation, smoke development and toxicity.  Interiors (but also complete refurbishment projects) which meet the highest European standards on fire retardancy, smoke development and toxicity, with maintaining the advantages of light weight / high strength composites, freedom of shape, graffiti proof etc etc.  .

• Protection of structures, personnel, valuable goods, etc against extreme temperatures caused by example fire. Examples are light weight fire doors, fire proof linings for tunnels, protection housings for instruments/electronics, ammunition storage, insulation of hot pipes etc.  It is even possible to protect up to temperatures of 5000 ºC for approx. 1 hour.

• Protection against impact, bullets/fragments and other projectiles. Examples are, helmets, bulletproof door panels, bulletproof desks etc. United Composites focuses mainly on shaped parts with anti ballistic habits. For flat composite panels UC is an trade agent

• Chemical protection and resistance against several types of acids and chemicals. Applications are fuel tanks, pipes for gas and liquid transport etc.

• Composite products which have to operate at high temperatures and maintain strength. Examples are: engine parts, engine compartment parts, parts for generators and parts for pips and pip systems for by example offshore and oil industry.
